I first fell il with M.E fifteen years ago I had a sickness bug and just fell more and more ill. I was house bound at the onset but symptoms have improved over the years and i have been lucky enough to stabalise my condition.
I tried lots of complementery therepies but found that cranial Osteopathy helped me the most. I also had cognitive Behavioural Therapy which helped with depression and pacing.
I was very fortunate in the fact that i had a lovely husband who believed and supported me and although I was bringing up two stepchildren of 9 and 11 years old we made it through!
My GP rang me to ask me if I would start up a support group and although I was scared, I joined forces with my sister in law and best friend who also have the illness and we began in 2005.
The group has been a godsend, we have wonderful members, we are all special friends and we all rely on one another to get through. i look forward to the meetings and feel priveleged to share the support we give and receive.
If I am too poorly to attend I feel miserable and the others say they feel the same.
We help one another to cope on a weekly basis.
